Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is associated with two distinct business outcomes, new venture creation and corporate strategic renewal. The first aspect is concerned with the building blocks of new businesses and follows a design theory or lean start-up methodology. The second aspect considers the entrepreneurial activities at incumbent level and taps into scaling activities through proactiveness and risk taking.

Innovation

Innovation is the lifeblood of any business as it prevents path dependency and long term obsolescence. Businesses have to continuously invest in radical and incremental innovation to stay ahead of the curve. The way in which businesses are organised determines to large extent how successful innovation trajectories will be. E.g. high degrees of employee autonomy can be an important source of innovation.
